It all started with Sustainable Communities…..
As a sophomore and senior at Mississippi State University, Emily and Preston met in a class they shared called Sustainable Communities (shout out to Cory gallo). Toward the end of the year Preston invited Emily to an end of the year graduation party he was graciously hosting in his tiny apartment with his roommate Josh (best man), and the rest was history. Now three cities, two dogs, and a house later, they’re finally getting around to solidifying their happily ever after!
An Annoying Obligatory Timeline
Preston moved me and Hank to Charlotte, NC for their first grown up job after graduation. The commute between North Carolina and Atlanta was brutal but it was always worth it!
Our family grew by one furry little boy! Hank was rescued from OCHS in Starkville at the end of my senior year. Seven years later he’s still the most handsome and sweetest boy, and the other half of Preston’s soul (even though he initially didn’t even want Hank).

Reunited! After some career building, we finally moved home to Birmingham and for the first time since college lived in the same city. (Pic is from our trip to Montana right after we moved back!)

2017-2018
Those early days, one year in, no idea how great everything was going to be. Just babies!
December 2021 we bought the house! And on January 01, 2022 we promptly began all the many many projects we designed for our little home. (Hank and Preston taking a break to be nosy neighbors while they were building shelves my future work studio)

And then there was one more….Though Duck is chaos on four legs most days, he completed our little family perfectly. He keeps us all on our toes but we couldn’t imagine our lives without the little crackhead.. (Preston didn’t want him either, and now they snuggle daily).
2023
We’ve had so many good years filled with laughs and great times and SO many weddings (which we enjoyed, there’s just been double digit amount)
2024
But have also gone through our fair share of rough days. While some years have been harder than others, we’ve held each other up and leaned into life together to get through it all. (This is our garden we’ve been building since we moved in. Preston said the picture needed context, so here’s context. Those are pumpkin vines.)
2025
In April 2027, when we finally make it to that alter, we will have been together for ten years. Ten years of love and life that we can't imagine getting through without one another. As we continue to grow together and build our home, careers, and family, we hope everyone we love (all of you reading this), are right there with us along the way ❤️
